Interim Secretary General

The Company is seeking a Secretary General to lead its secretariat and strengthen its impact on nature and climate. The role carries overall responsibility for operations, finances, and employees, and involves translating organizational decisions and work programs into clear priorities, strategies, and action plans. The Secretary General will develop the organization, strengthen business management, and support a robust and varied income base. Working closely with elected leadership and local groups, the role also involves building trust across the organization, forming external alliances, and leading the management team. The ideal candidate is a confident, unifying senior leader with strong organizational understanding and a genuine commitment to nature and climate. They should be able to engage quickly with complex professional and political issues, provide clear direction through disagreement, and build a collaborative culture while respecting and constructively challenging established practices. Experience leading a complex knowledge-based or membership organization is an advantage. Higher education is preferred, along with strong Norwegian and English skills.
