Deputy Managing Director, Health & Human Services

The Company is seeking a Deputy Managing Director for Health and Human Services to provide senior executive leadership across multiple city departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership, policy implementation, and operational coordination in the areas of health, behavioral health, human services, and related social programs. This role is pivotal in ensuring the alignment of departmental activities with the Mayor's and Managing Director's policies and objectives, as well as the successful execution of major city initiatives and reforms. The Deputy Managing Director will also be tasked with fostering collaboration among operating departments, engaging with community and private sector partners, and ensuring transparency, accountability, and equitable service delivery. Applicants for the Deputy Managing Director position must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree preferred, and at least 10 years of leadership experience in a large, urban municipal government or a related field. The role requires a deep knowledge of public administration, urban policy, and intergovernmental relations, as well as a proven track record in executive leadership, financial management, and organizational change. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead a diverse portfolio of departments, develop and implement strategic policies, and engage with the community to ensure that government actions reflect public needs and priorities. Strong skills in crisis management, negotiation, and communication are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
