Interim Head of Transport Greater Rotterdam, Netherlands Area

The Company is seeking a Head of Transport for its Business Unit Contract Logistics in the Benelux region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct leadership of 14 team leaders and the indirect management of approximately 700 drivers. This role demands a leader with a strong presence, the ability to listen, and a commitment to clear and consistent communication. The Head of Transport will be the key figure in ensuring that every driver is seen, well-supported, and fully aware of their responsibilities. This includes developing the driver organization, maintaining a uniform leadership approach, and prioritizing the retention of drivers. The ideal candidate will have a background in transport or a similar operational environment, with a focus on safety and experience in a setting where safety is paramount. The Head of Transport will be expected to work closely with the BU Director to set and achieve concrete goals, with a clear focus on safety, reducing incidents, and improving driver satisfaction. The role requires a leader who can engage with team leaders and drivers, understand their needs, and take proactive measures to address any issues. The candidate should be adept at fostering a culture of safety, responsibility, and continuous improvement, and be prepared to be actively present at various locations in the Benelux region. Proficiency in Dutch and English is essential, with French and/or German being a plus.
