This hands-on role is pivotal in guiding the creation and deployment of new AI models and products, ensuring compliance with evolving requirements, and enabling innovation within the legal framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal issues, including advising on AI regulation, privacy, data use, intellectual property, model safety, and product claims. They will also lead compliance efforts for new laws and support commercial agreements with strategic partners. The ideal candidate for this position at the company will have a minimum of 8 years' of relevant legal experience, with a strong background in AI regulation, privacy, data governance, or intellectual property. Significant in-house work with technology product teams is essential. The role demands the ability to provide clear, practical, and risk-based advice in areas where the law is still developing, as well as independent judgment, decisiveness, and a genuine interest in working directly with those involved in the creation of transformative technology. The Associate General Counsel will be a key partner to the product, research, and engineering teams, translating complex legal requirements into actionable guidance and leading the way in compliance efforts for new and emerging laws.
