The Company is seeking a Vice President, Intellectual Property to lead its global IP function. The successful candidate will be a key member of the legal team, responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive IP strategy that safeguards the company's innovative work in cellular programming, computational biology, and the development of novel therapeutics. This role demands a strategic leader with a Juris Doctorate, a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field, and a strong background in both the legal and scientific aspects of the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. The VP will be tasked with managing the patent portfolio, driving initiatives to capture and protect company inventions, and providing expert counsel on IP matters to business and executive stakeholders. Applicants for the Vice President, Intellectual Property position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' of progressive IP experience, with a focus on global pharmaceutical drug development and commercialization. The role requires a leader with a proven track record in managing IP teams, overseeing high-volume IP workflows, and effectively partnering across business departments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate core leadership competencies such as high integrity, the ability to deal with ambiguity, a bias to action, and a commitment to teamwork and collaboration. Executive presence and the ability to distill complex scientific and legal concepts into clear, business-focused recommendations are also essential.
