Head of School

The Company is seeking a Head of School to take on a pivotal role that is akin to a Headteacher position, with ultimate accountability for the operational, educational, and financial performance of the school. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspiring creativity, collaboration, and strong leadership, and must be a passionate advocate for students, particularly those with complex learning difficulties. Key duties include establishing and sustaining the school's ethos and strategic direction, overseeing systems and processes for effective operation, identifying and addressing barriers to effectiveness, and ensuring the implementation of school improvement strategies. The role also involves close partnership with the Principal in promoting enrichment, entitlement, and achievement, as well as undertaking safeguarding duties. Applicants for the Head of School position at the company should have Qualified Teacher Status with a further professional qualification in a relevant area, and a preference for those with a Head Teacher qualification or a willingness to gain one. Experience as a senior leader in an ASD and PMLD environment, a clear understanding of Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding legislation, and quality assurance experience are essential. The role requires superb communication, stakeholder management, and team management skills. The ideal candidate will be a team player, work well autonomously, and have a passion for education, with a background that includes teaching, 121 teaching experience, and a strong knowledge of the curriculum across key stages 3 to 5.
