Associate General Counsel Greater Springfield, IL Area

The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to serve as the primary legal advisor and counsel to its various divisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal guidance on a wide range of complex issues, including but not limited to, administration, organization, and policies as they pertain to the company's programs. This role involves mentoring and supervising legal staff, conducting in-depth legal research, and conferring with external entities on statutory interpretations and compliance. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in the review and revision of current and proposed legislation, as well as in the preparation of legal memoranda, reports, and opinions. Applicants must possess a license to practice law in Illinois and have at least one year of professional legal experience, with a preference for those with a background in regulations and administrative procedures related to the regulation of driver's licenses. The role requires extensive knowledge of federal and state vehicle codes, driving laws, and regulations, as well as experience in judicial and quasi-judicial procedures. The ideal candidate will have the ability to maintain effective working relationships, present legal material clearly, and exercise sound judgment in legal matters. The position also demands the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, some travel, and a valid Illinois driver's license.
