Associate Vice President, Senior Java Developer Greater Toronto, Canada Area

The Company is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join their Fixed Income Trading Services technology team. The successful candidate will be involved in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs, with a focus on contributing to application systems analysis and programming activities. Key responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, IT planning, and risk technology, as well as monitoring and controlling all phases of the development process. The role also involves providing user and operational support, recommending and developing security measures, and ensuring that essential procedures and operating standards are followed. Applicants should have a minimum of 4 years' experience in Java/web distributed application development, with a strong background in server-end frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot. Knowledge of container and virtualization technologies like Openshift and Docker, as well as experience in real-time messaging system development using Kafka, Tibco EMS, or Solace, is essential. The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of fixed-income products, particularly Tender Option Bonds, and possess strong UNIX/Linux scripting, file manipulation, and system status monitoring skills. Experience with Oracle/MSSQL RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning, as well as proficiency in source control software like Git, is required. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is also necessary.
