Chief Development Officer (CDO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the fundraising team and the strategic communications and operations area, with a strong focus on unified institutional priorities, development planning, and goal setting. This role involves managing a portfolio of high-capacity prospects, supervising and mentoring fundraising professionals, and serving as a key architect for the company's annual fundraising plan and campaigns. The Chief Development Officer will also be a primary advisor to academic leaders, ensure that all fundraising activities align with the company's strategic plan, and represent the company at various events and meetings. Applicants for the Chief Development Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' professional fundraising experience, with a proven track record in securing six- or seven-figure gifts. The role requires experience with CRM software, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. A strong commitment to the Donor Bill of Rights, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and supervisory experience are essential. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree, relevant campaign experience, and a deep understanding of all functional areas of an advancement organization, particularly in a higher education setting.
