Executive Director, Policy Remote (anywhere in Australia)

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Policy to lead a branch that is at the forefront of evidence-based policy development and reform. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of research, analysis, and policy development across key portfolio areas, with a focus on providing trusted, impartial advice to the Premier and Cabinet. This role demands a leader who can shape policy on complex issues, manage the Cabinet process, and work closely with government officials to drive the government's priorities. The immediate opportunity is within the Energy, Environment, and Primary Industries branch, but the company is also interested in developing a talent pool for similar senior policy leadership roles. Candidates for the Executive Director position should be experienced in public policy development, with a strong record of providing balanced, evidence-based advice on politically sensitive issues. A deep understanding of Cabinet, parliamentary, and Budget processes, or the capacity to master these quickly, is essential.
