Executive Director, Tourism Development Council
About the Role
Remote (anywhere in Florida)
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Tourism Development Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration of the TDC, including budget preparation, marketing plan development, and implementation, as well as managing day-to-day operations and staff at the visitor center. This role involves acting as the spokesperson and media representative for the TDC, ensuring compliance with relevant statutes and policies, and maintaining good working relationships with various tourism and economic development organizations. The Executive Director will also be involved in event coordination, serving as a primary contact for event planners, and monitoring the effectiveness of TDC-funded events. Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 3 years' experience in tourism promotions and special events, with a preference for those with supervisory experience. The role requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work in a political environment, and a strong background in advertising, marketing, and public relations. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple responsibilities, have a creative approach to promotional activities, and be proficient in contemporary electronic communication technologies. A valid FL driver's license is also a requirement.
