Head of Engineering, B2B Technology Services Remote (anywhere in Peru)

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering / Technical Director to take ownership of the technology strategy, operations, and evolution of a multi-product ecosystem. This ecosystem serves the construction industry across 15 Latin American countries and includes a B2B marketplace, AI-powered products, content platforms, business intelligence solutions, and in-house managed AWS infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the technical platform, including architecture, engineering execution, reliability, security, data, AI initiatives, and cloud cost optimization. Key responsibilities for this role include leading the operation of AWS infrastructure, acting as the final escalation point for production incidents, delivering products end-to-end, and establishing engineering best practices. The role also involves managing large-scale database operations, driving cloud and AI cost optimization, and growing the engineering organization. Applicants for the Head of Engineering / Technical Director position at the company should have a minimum of 8 years' experience in building, operating, and scaling software in production environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in defining the technical direction of an entire platform and strong experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and AI-enabled products. Hands-on experience with AWS environments, observability practices, and AI-assisted development tools is essential. The role requires a strong understanding of production systems, performance, scalability, reliability, and risk management, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills in English and Spanish. Experience in technical SEO, payment and subscription billing platforms, and leading technology functions in a startup or small engineering organization is a plus.
