Vice President of Security Remote (anywhere in United States)

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Security to spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive security strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary security organization that encompasses product security, corporate security, and information security. This role demands a strategic, hands-on leader with a proven track record in security, including experience in security operations, cloud security, product security, identity and access management, risk, compliance, and incident response. The VP of Security will be tasked with defining and owning the security strategy, leading the security team, and creating a culture of security that is both competitive and trusted. They will also be expected to partner with various teams across the organization to ensure secure-by-default design and to represent the security function with the Board, customers, and industry audiences. Candidates for the VP of Security position at the company should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a background that includes experience with AI security, AI governance, and responsible AI, as well as a strong understanding of security standards and regulations such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR. The role requires a leader who is adept at managing serious security incidents, leading compliance programs, and making risk-based decisions. The VP of Security will also be responsible for establishing governance for the use of AI across the organization and leading the data security and governance program. A calm and decisive leader, who is a trust builder and an agile communicator, is essential for this role.
