Head of Renewable Energy Project Development

The Company is seeking a Head of Development to spearhead the growth of its utility-scale renewable energy project pipeline in Italy. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading the full development lifecycle of solar, onshore wind, and BESS projects, from inception to execution. This includes defining and implementing the national development strategy in line with European expansion plans, overseeing permitting processes, environmental assessments, and grid connection applications, and managing relationships with a range of external stakeholders. The role also involves building and mentoring a high-performing development team, coordinating with internal teams to ensure project bankability, and staying abreast of market trends and regulatory changes to optimize project positioning. Applicants for the Head of Development position must have a proven track record in utility-scale renewable energy development in Italy, with a strong understanding of the local permitting processes, grid connection frameworks, and regulatory environment. Experience in leading or scaling development teams, a solid network within the Italian renewable energy ecosystem, and a commercial mindset that balances technical, legal, and financial considerations are essential. The role requires fluency in Italian and English, as well as strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. The ideal candidate will be adept at both strategic and hands-on project development and will ensure that all projects meet the company's internal investment criteria, risk frameworks, and ESG standards.
