General Counsel

The Company is seeking a General Counsel to be its top legal advisor and strategic partner. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, with a primary focus on managing and negotiating complex construction and commercial contracts. This role requires a leader who can ensure the organization is well-prepared to mitigate risk while fostering strong client and partner relationships. The General Counsel will also oversee contract negotiation, risk management, litigation, compliance, and corporate governance, and will be a key figure in guiding the legal strategy to support the company's growth. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' legal experience, with a strong background in construction law and employment law. Key qualifications include a deep understanding of construction industry contracts and risk structures, a proven ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements, and strong knowledge of employment law, OSHA considerations, and workforce-related issues. The role also demands experience in managing litigation, outside counsel, and the ability to operate independently in a lean environment. The ideal candidate will have a track record of advising executive leadership in a business-facing capacity, experience supporting multi-state operations, and familiarity with insurance, bonding, and risk management frameworks. A Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar membership are required, with a preference for Georgia admission or a willingness to obtain it.
