Head of Transportation Projects

The Company is seeking a Head of Transportation Projects to lead a dynamic team in the strategic development and management of key transportation and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional and personal leadership of approximately 40 employees, representing the department both internally and externally, and driving the department's vision for future-proof solutions in urban transportation and infrastructure planning. This role requires a leader with a strong engineering background, including a degree in civil engineering, infrastructure management, construction management, or a related field, and several years of experience in the planning and management of public projects, particularly in a municipal setting or engineering firm. Key responsibilities for the Head of Transportation Projects include overseeing the planning and implementation of major transportation and development projects, as well as projects in urban water management, flood and heavy rain protection, and hydraulic engineering. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the German Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers (HOAI), the German Federal Building Code (BauGB), and the German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB), with additional knowledge of planning and contract law being advantageous. The role demands a leader with excellent analytical and conceptual skills, a strong focus on quality and responsibility, and the ability to engage effectively with political bodies, administration, and the professional community. Proficiency in German is essential, and experience in dealing with diverse stakeholders is a plus.
