Chief Program Officer, Exoneration Strategy & Support

The Company is seeking a Chief Program Officer for Exoneration Strategy and Support. This senior leadership role is pivotal in the oversight, management, and supervision of various program areas, including post-conviction litigation, special litigation, social work, and intake and case evaluation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pro-bono legal representation to individuals wrongfully convicted of crimes, offering trauma-informed support to formerly incarcerated clients, and leading a team that reviews and analyzes requests for representation. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief Program Officer will contribute to the organization's strategic planning, decision-making, and resource allocation, and will be expected to model and promote the values of an inclusive and respectful workplace. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal legal system reform litigation, particularly in the post-conviction context, and a proven track record of organizational leadership and operational oversight. They should be adept at setting direction, building coherence across programs, and ensuring accountability and performance. The role requires a leader with emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and a deep commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and the mission of the organization. The Chief Program Officer will be a thought partner to senior colleagues, capable of translating organizational strategy into clear priorities and sustained outcomes, and will be responsible for keeping their teams aligned, motivated, and high-performing.
