About the Role
Greater Stockholm, Sweden Area (On-site - Headquarter location)(Stockholm, Sweden)
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Nuclear Island Development to lead the transformation of an emerging reactor technology into a commercial product. This role is pivotal in the development of a first-of-a-kind lead-cooled nuclear reactor, with a focus on creating a licensable, manufacturable, modular, and repeatable product for fleet deployment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the integrated development of the Nuclear Island, ensuring that all aspects of product architecture, analysis, testing, qualification, manufacturing, and regulatory substantiation are cohesive. This is a product development role, not a project execution role, and the VP will lead various departments including core design, reactor systems, mechanical design, fluids and thermal hydraulics, safety analysis, licensing engineering, and reactor technology development. Applicants must have a proven track record in taking complex, safety-critical hardware products through industrialization, with at least 15 years' experience in developing hardware in heavily regulated industries. The role requires a leader with a strong background in engineering, including an engineering degree and the ability to challenge technical leaders in fields such as reactor physics, safety analysis, and thermal hydraulics. Experience in nuclear industry, particularly in a licensed reactor program, and knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, is highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will be product-minded, optimizing for the fleet, and treating safety and regulatory requirements as design drivers. They should be comfortable making technical decisions with incomplete information, and be adept at balancing safety, performance, and manufacturability in the development process.
