Head of Accounting

The Company is seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to join its dynamic and entrepreneurial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall accounting activities of the group, leading a small team of accounting professionals, and playing a key role in the development and improvement of the accounting function. This is a hands-on position that requires genuine ownership, a proactive approach to process enhancement, and the ability to work closely with senior management. The role involves managing the general ledger, sub-ledgers, and all closing activities, as well as preparing financial statements in compliance with Swiss GAAP FER and the Swiss Code of Obligations. The Head of Accounting will also be involved in group accounting, consolidation, and individual legal entity accounting, and will oversee tax accounting and compliance. The ideal candidate will have several years' of experience in accounting, group accounting, audit, or fiduciary services, and hold a recognized Swiss accounting qualification. Strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP FER, OR, and experience with group accounting and consolidation are essential. The role requires a good understanding of Swiss tax and VAT issues, previous experience in a supervisory role, and fluency in German with good English communication skills. Experience in a multi-entity environment, such as real estate or construction, is beneficial. The Head of Accounting will be expected to identify and implement process improvements, contribute to the digitalization of the finance function, and explore opportunities to enhance efficiency through technology and AI.
