Experience in advocacy, education, training, and community-based programs is essential, and a background in public policy and government relations is a strong plus. The candidate should possess strong fundraising and development experience, including the cultivation of individual donors, foundations, and government contracts. Exceptional communication and public speaking skills are required to serve as a credible external spokesperson.
