The Company is seeking a Vice President for Global Medical Safety in the Gastrointestinal and Inflammation therapeutic area. The successful candidate will be accountable for the end-to-end safety and benefit-risk strategy, ensuring integrated, science-driven decision-making for both development and marketed products. This role involves defining and driving the global vision for patient safety, aligning safety strategy with asset strategy, regulatory expectations, and enterprise priorities. The VP will also serve as a senior decision-maker, shaping outcomes in safety governance forums, and leading a high-performing safety organization to advance innovation in safety science and benefit-risk assessment. Candidates must have a medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) or an internationally recognized equivalent, ideally combined with an advanced degree. A minimum of 10 years' of experience in pharmacovigilance, clinical research, or clinical development within the pharmaceutical industry, academia, or CRO is required, with at least 3 years' in people management. The role demands a deep understanding of regulatory agency requirements, drug safety methodologies, and experience in a global pharmacovigilance organization. The VP will be responsible for operational oversight, ensuring compliance with global pharmacovigilance regulations, and leading safety interactions with regulatory authorities. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced, pressured environment and to travel as needed.
