Associate Vice President, D&O Claims

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for D&O Claims. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving claims made against the company's insurance policies, with a focus on public and private D&O, fiduciary, crime, and other professional lines. This role requires the ability to efficiently manage a diverse and demanding claims load, promptly analyze coverage, and manage litigation in a collaborative and customer-focused manner. The AVP will also be involved in engaging with other areas of the company, such as underwriting, finance, accounting, actuarial, operations, and technology, on various projects and will be expected to provide superior service to both internal and external customers. Applicants must have at least 7 years' of experience in handling liability insurance claims or related fields, with a preference for those who have experience in specialty lines claims. A four-year college degree is required, and a J.D. is strongly preferred. The role demands substantial knowledge of the issues underlying insurance claims, particularly in the specified areas. Excellent negotiation, communication, and technical writing skills are essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office. The ability to work within the scope of delegated authority, including the establishment of reserves and the reporting of claim developments, is also a key requirement. The position may involve some travel and requires the ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
