Head of Engineering, Maintenance & Engineering

The Company is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance operations at a rib processing facility. This key leadership role is focused on ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining compliance with food safety and health and safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating all engineering and maintenance activities, managing preventative and reactive maintenance programs, and overseeing a small engineering team. The role requires a hands-on approach, particularly in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have a background as an Engineering Manager or Maintenance Manager within food manufacturing or FMCG, with a strong understanding of maintenance and quality systems in a regulated manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include managing engineering KPIs, performance reporting, and supporting continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives. The role also involves assisting with CAPEX projects, site improvement activities, and developing the engineering team through coaching and leadership. The candidate should have experience in supervising repairs, calibration activities, and contractor management, as well as knowledge of root cause analysis, deviations, and good documentation practices. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment are essential.
