Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
About the Role
Greater Detroit, MI Area(Madison Heights, Michigan)
The Company is in search of a Chief Financial Officer to play a pivotal role in the organization's growth and financial strategy. The CFO will be a key partner to the President and executive team, leading all financial aspects including treasury and lender relationships, planning and analysis, reporting, tax, and compliance. This hands-on position requires the CFO to not only lead but also actively engage in the work, serving as a true business partner to the leaders of each business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for the company's operations in the U.S., Canada, and a joint venture in China, and will oversee the Accounting, IT, and Procurement departments. Key responsibilities for the CFO include serving as a strategic business partner, leading the financial side of acquisitions, and maintaining strong internal controls. The role demands a leader with a deep understanding of manufacturing finance, particularly in make-to-order industrial, metals, or aerospace environments, and experience in multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred, and at least 10 years' of progressive finance and accounting leadership. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a significant advantage, as is a background in a privately held, mid-sized business, particularly one that is family-owned. The CFO must be adept at building and leading finance teams, with the ability to explain financial results clearly to non-financial leaders, and should be prepared to thrive in a lean, flat organization where initiative and resourcefulness are highly valued.
