Head of IT Infrastructure & Operations

The Company is seeking a Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations to lead the transformation of its technology landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the future of infrastructure operations and driving AI-driven innovation within a highly regulated business. This role involves leading, coaching, and developing the infrastructure and operations team, creating a high-performance culture, and ensuring the stability and delivery of core infrastructure services across on-premise and cloud environments. The Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations will also be a key escalation point for technical and operational challenges, manage external service providers, and drive vendor performance and contract management activities. Applicants must have several years of experience in leading infrastructure, operations, or platform engineering teams, with a strong background in heavily regulated industries such as financial services, energy, or pharmaceuticals. The role requires a hands-on understanding of various technical areas, including Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization technologies, enterprise storage platforms, data centers, and hybrid infrastructure. Experience with Microsoft cloud technologies, particularly Azure, and a proven track record of building team cohesion and driving change are essential. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in dynamic, high-pressure environments, and be fluent in English, with conversational German being advantageous. The position offers the opportunity to influence the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, within infrastructure operations.
