Head of Engineering, AI-Enabled Engineering Delivery

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering for AI-Enabled Engineering Delivery. This pivotal role involves designing and leading the in-house AI-enabled software delivery capability, with a focus on driving the Intranet rewrite and its ongoing enhancement. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up the development department, establishing delivery infrastructure, and making key engineering decisions. This is a hands-on position, where the Head of Engineering will also be coding and building the development function. Over time, the role will expand to include leading a small engineering team and overseeing workflow automation and internal application development. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a postgraduate qualification and formal AI-related training being advantageous. A minimum of 7 years of software development experience, including a proven track record in AI-assisted software delivery, is required. The role demands a leader with strong engineering judgment, the ability to make independent architectural and delivery decisions, and a commitment to responsible AI and governance. Experience in financial services or a regulated environment is also a plus. The Head of Engineering will be measured on the success of the AI-assisted delivery approach, the modernized Intranet, and the development function's readiness for future growth within the first 6-12 months.
