Associate Vice President, Internal Audit, Credit Audit & Commercial Lending

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Internal Audit with a focus on Credit Audit and Commercial Lending. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing risk-based audit engagements in the areas of commercial credit underwriting, portfolio management, and loan impairment policies. This role requires a deep understanding of internal credit risk rating models, collateral valuation frameworks, and credit approval processes, ensuring compliance with HKMA Supervisory Policy Manuals and statutory guidelines. The AVP will also be tasked with authoring high-impact audit reports, identifying systemic risk exposures, and proposing practical remediation strategies. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business discipline, with a preference for professional financial or auditing qualifications such as CPA, CIA, or FRM. A minimum of 7 years' experience in internal audit or credit risk management within a commercial bank, or credit risk audit experience within the Big 4, is essential. The role demands excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills, as well as the ability to engage constructively with senior credit executives. Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is mandatory. The ideal candidate will be part of an independent control function, operating in a structured and professional environment, and will be expected to support the continuous optimization of credit risk audit methodologies, including the integration of data analytics tools for portfolio monitoring.
