Head of the Department of Mathematics & Information Technology

The Company is seeking a Head of the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology to provide academic leadership and strategic direction in the development and implementation of innovative programs, courses, and research in data science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, and related fields. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing competitive external funding, enhancing collaboration with academic and industry partners, and managing and mentoring staff. The role also involves active participation in university governance and contributing to the academic community at local, regional, and international levels. The Head of Department will be expected to have a doctoral degree, a strong research background, and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Applicants for the Head of the Department position at the company should have a doctoral degree and prior degrees in relevant fields, with a proven track record of high-impact research and the ability to attract competitive external funding. Teaching experience and a commitment to excellence in teaching are essential, with a preference for those holding Qualified Teacher Status. The role requires fluency in English, and knowledge of Cantonese and/or Putonghua, as well as an understanding of the educational context of Hong Kong and/or China. International experience is highly valued. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's teaching, research, and program management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and may be involved in the supervision of fieldwork and teaching practicum.
