Interim Head of Health & Safety

The Company is seeking an Interim Head of Health and Safety to provide both operational leadership and strategic oversight in the areas of health and safety, environmental, and sustainability. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of risk, compliance with statutory obligations, incident management, and the promotion of a positive safety and sustainability culture. Key responsibilities include developing a customer-focused service, setting clear objectives for service delivery, and managing a team to ensure the implementation of relevant action plans. The role also involves assessing political pressures on service delivery and pursuing best practices to ensure value for money. Applicants for the Head of Health and Safety position at the company should have a demonstrable track record in successful partnership and multi-agency working, as well as experience in applying risk management to strategic planning. The role requires a candidate with a successful project management background and a proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and partners. Qualifications for the role include a leadership/management qualification or significant experience, NEBOSH certification or a willingness to work towards it, and a Chartered membership of IOSH. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a service budget, ensuring spending is within limits, and will be skilled in managing and developing a team of professional officers and/or supervisory staff.
