Acting Executive Director, International Employment Law
About the Role
Greater London, United Kingdom Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking an Acting Executive Director for International Employment Law to support the General Counsel in leading and overseeing the full range of employment law, including pensions, incentives, and immigration, across its global markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic, cross-border employment law advice to enable the company to achieve its business goals. This role involves close collaboration with senior leaders, direct advising on sensitive people-related matters, and becoming a trusted partner of the global People Team community. Specific responsibilities include ensuring legal best practices for managing employee relations, leading on non-US employment law work, advising on consultation processes, overseeing employment contracts, and managing relationships with outside employment counsel. The role also encompasses handling day-to-day employment matters, supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives, and managing employment litigation. Applicants must be qualified legal professionals in the UK and/or EU, with significant experience in international employment law and litigation, and a proven track record of operating international people compliance programs. Relevant in-house experience of providing employment advice to a global business is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling international employment law issues, including consultations and labor relations matters, and be adept at working with company compliance policies. Experience in UK pensions is preferable. The role requires the ability to work with and advise on the legal implications of AI technologies in the workplace, as well as a strong background in managing disciplinary matters, internal investigations, and workforce representation issues. The candidate should also be prepared to support the management of the company's whistleblowing hotline and contribute to the development of the global business and legal affairs department's culture, strategy, and operations.
