Chief Operating Officer (COO)
About the Role
Greater London, United Kingdom Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to play a pivotal role in the strategic and member-focused delivery of its services. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Executive, Board, executive team, and colleagues across the UK to enhance the business infrastructure and operational performance. This includes financial planning, governance, risk, compliance, digital, data, CRM, and supplier management. The role is particularly significant as the company has made strides in unifying its professional association, trade union, membership, and business functions. The next COO will be instrumental in building on this progress by improving financial management, strengthening data and insight, and developing clearer systems to foster a culture of confidence and accountability within the organization. Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a background in senior leadership, with experience in roles such as COO, Deputy CEO, Chief Executive, or similar. While an accounting qualification is not mandatory, a strong background in strategic financial management is essential. The ideal candidate will be adept at building robust business infrastructure, leading change, and be particularly interested in how data, CRM, and insight can enhance member experience and decision-making. Experience in a membership organization, professional body, trade union, charity, or values-led organization is advantageous, but the company is also open to leaders from other sectors who can demonstrate the necessary judgment, curiosity, and humility to understand and support its distinctive role.
