Head of Legal

The Company is seeking a Head of Legal to join their global business. This is a pivotal role, as the successful candidate will be the first permanent legal hire, following a period of engaging lawyers on a deal-specific basis. The Head of Legal will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice and must have a strong technical background in commercial law, particularly in the negotiation and drafting of SaaS subscription agreements, MSAs, order forms, and partner contracts. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of 8-10 years' post-qualification experience, including significant in-house experience at a technology or SaaS business. Key responsibilities for the Head of Legal include demonstrating strength in commercial contracting, possessing strong commercial judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Experience in managing or supervising junior legal staff, as well as familiarity with PE-backed governance and reporting expectations, is essential. The role also requires a candidate with a proven track record in assessing legal risk and advising with clarity and decisiveness. Familiarity with GDPR in a SaaS/data-processing context, including processor agreements and cross-border data transfer mechanisms, is a critical requirement for this position.
