The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) with a strong background in administration and finance to join its School of Medicine and Public Health. The COO will be a key strategic leader, responsible for providing executive leadership in the areas of finance, human resources, operations, facilities, information technology, and organizational effectiveness. This role is pivotal in advancing the school's strategic priorities, particularly in the areas of operational excellence, long-range financial planning, and the thoughtful stewardship of institutional resources. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the implementation of the school's strategic plan, develop long-range administrative and financial strategies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The COO will also be a central figure in the school's transformation, modernizing administrative systems, and aligning resources with the institution's mission of advancing health and health equity. Applicants for the COO position at the company's School of Medicine and Public Health should have a Master's degree in a relevant field, with a terminal degree preferred, and at least 5-10 years' experience in higher education. A minimum of 10 years' of senior operational leadership experience in a complex academic or healthcare organization is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial stewardship, operational performance, and organizational effectiveness, as well as experience in leading large administrative organizations and creating economies of scale. Strong skills in data analytics, technology, and AI-enabled solutions are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. The COO will be expected to have a leadership style characterized by humility, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to public service, and to demonstrate a systematic approach to leadership development and career progression.
