Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
About the Role
Greater Madison, WI Area (Hybrid - Headquarter location)
The Company is seeking a Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer to provide strategic leadership across its HR, compensation, and benefits functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of key HR strategies, programs, and policies, with a focus on talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, employee engagement, compliance, and compensation and benefits. This role also involves acting on behalf of the Chief HR Officer as needed, and partnering with institution HR leaders on systemwide policy development and strategic initiatives. The Deputy CHRO will lead the administration of benefits, retirement, and leave programs, and will be involved in the strategic oversight of compensation strategies, classification, and workforce analytics. Applicants for the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years' of broad HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years' in a managerial role. A Master's degree and HR certification are preferred. The role requires advanced computer skills, proficiency in HRIS systems, and a strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading organizational change, workforce planning, and talent management. They should be adept at building and maintaining relationships, have excellent communication skills, and be committed to diversity and inclusion. The Deputy CHRO will also be expected to provide leadership and supervision to HR staff and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
