Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Greater New York City, NY Area (Hybrid)
The Company is in search of a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to take on a pivotal role in leading and enhancing its Information Security program. The CISO will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including executive cybersecurity leadership, direct involvement in cyber risk, regulatory compliance, vulnerability management, remediation, incident readiness, and security governance. This hands-on position demands a leader who can evaluate the current security environment, identify areas for improvement, and work to strengthen the organization's overall cybersecurity posture. The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, oversee regulatory compliance activities, and lead a small cybersecurity team while remaining personally engaged in critical security issues. Applicants for the CISO role at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' progressive experience in Information Security or cybersecurity, with a proven track record of leading an enterprise Information Security program. Strong skills in cybersecurity risk, governance, vulnerability management, and remediation are essential, as is a hands-on understanding of enterprise security controls and infrastructure. The role requires experience in a regulated environment, particularly in the financial sector, and a background in incident response and cybersecurity risk assessment. The ideal candidate will have executive-level communication skills, the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, and relevant technical or security discipline qualifications. Preferred experience includes certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCISO, CISA, or equivalent, and a Master's degree.
