Chair of the Department of MMET

The Company is seeking a Chair for the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Technology. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and visionary leader with a strong background in engineering, engineering technology, or STEM education. Responsibilities include fostering innovation, collaboration, and shared governance, as well as leading the department in educational, research, and service activities. The Chair will be tasked with ensuring the efficient operation of administrative functions, supporting the growth of undergraduate and graduate programs, and expanding the department's research profile. A key aspect of the role is to maintain a welcoming and productive work and learning environment, promote excellence in teaching, and engage in strategic planning for the department's enhancement. Applicants for the Chair position must have an earned Ph.D. in a relevant field or an earned doctorate in STEM education with a master's degree in a related area. A minimum of ten years of professional experience in engineering, engineering technology, or STEM education is required, along with a proven track record of scholarly activity and excellence in teaching. The ideal candidate will have a democratic and collaborative leadership style, a commitment to student-centered education, and experience in faculty and staff recruitment, development, and retention. The role also involves fiscal oversight, compliance, and philanthropy, and the Chair is expected to work with industry partners to enhance the department's programs and research.
