Independent Supervisory Board Member
About the Role
Greater Rotterdam, Netherlands Area
The Company is in search of an independent Supervisory Board member with a strong financial background and a strategic focus on business operations, particularly in the areas of finance. The ideal candidate will have a broad view of business operations and be experienced in engaging at a strategic level with sub-areas such as accommodation, IT, and facilities. Extensive experience in a role with ultimate financial responsibility, such as a financial director, group controller, board member, partner, or accountant, is essential. While not mandatory, experience in the public sector, especially in fields like education, healthcare, government, or other social organizations, is highly valued. The role requires a professional who is adept at risk management, and governance, and who understands the complexities of public accountability and stakeholder relationships. As a member of the Supervisory Board, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the sound operational management, financial continuity, and societal effectiveness of the organization. This includes fulfilling the audit function of the Supervisory Board and recognizing how financial decisions impact the company's societal mission. The position demands a supervisor with a genuine interest in the organization, visible within the partnership, and who values dialogue with the Participation Council and Works Council. The challenge is significant, with a focus on the increasing support needs of young people, the development of inclusive education, and the alignment between education and youth care. The role is pivotal in the company's current phase of substantive and governance development, particularly in the context of the new Support Plan 2026–2030, which emphasizes vision-driven resource allocation and transparent accountability for public funds.
