Head of Accounting & Financial Consolidation

The Company is seeking a Head of Accounting and Financial Consolidation to join their team. This senior financial leadership role is pivotal in overseeing domestic statutory accounting, global group consolidation, and key reporting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with international reporting standards, debt covenants, and JGAAP compliance. Additionally, the role involves leading service delivery quality for offshore business process outsourcing partners, overseeing external audit engagements, and serving as the main point of contact for global accounting firm relationships. The Head of Accounting will also act as an international technical accounting SME, spearhead systems upgrade initiatives, and collaborate with executive stakeholders to optimize financial governance. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, and hold an active CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent qualification. A minimum of 7 years' of progressive financial accounting, reporting, and controlling experience within a multinational setting is required, with in-depth practical knowledge of both IFRS and JGAAP frameworks. The role demands proven supervisory experience, practical expertise in enterprise ERP systems, and fluency in both Japanese and English. Preferred qualifications include 6 to 8 years' of foundational experience within a Big 4 public accounting firm, an MBA, and direct experience in ERP migrations or implementing reporting automation tools.
