About the Role
Greater Washington D.C. Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its publishing division, a key leadership role responsible for guiding the organization through a period of growth, innovation, and financial sustainability. The successful candidate will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief, Management Board, and senior leadership team to develop and execute a forward-looking strategy that modernizes the business model, expands revenue, and positions the company's respected content for new audiences and platforms. This role requires a strategic vision, operational discipline, and a commitment to maintaining the quality, credibility, and trust that define the brand. The Executive Director will also be tasked with leading organizational change, building a talented team, and fostering a culture of trust, transparency, and collaboration. Applicants for the Executive Director position should have significant executive leadership experience, a proven track record in developing and executing enterprise-level strategies, and strong business and financial acumen. The role demands an entrepreneurial and innovative orientation, as well as the ability to lead and develop senior teams. While direct health policy expertise is not required, a strong appreciation for the role of credible, evidence-based information in health policy is essential. The ideal candidate will have a background in a content- or knowledge-driven sector, such as publishing, media, or research, and a Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for an advanced degree in a related discipline. The Executive Director will be expected to be a visible and credible ambassador for the organization, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and must be prepared for national and occasional international travel.
