Head of Design

The Company is seeking a Head of Design to lead the consolidation and integration of two design departments into a single, cohesive unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall technical quality and leadership of mechanical design in machine and plant engineering, ensuring the highest standards are met. This role involves leading a team of 15 employees, providing both technical and disciplinary guidance, and overseeing the professional development of team members. The Head of Design will also be in charge of planning, managing, and implementing demanding design projects, as well as coordinating communication with various stakeholders. Continuous development of design standards and guidelines is a key aspect of the position. Candidates for the Head of Design role at the company should have a degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable technical field, with a strong preference for those with a background in mechanical and plant engineering. A minimum of 10 years' management experience in mechanical design, particularly in the relevant software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, be a team player, and possess excellent communication skills. A proactive, analytical, and structured approach to work, along with a strong technical understanding, is essential. The role also demands a willingness to take on responsibility, drive progress, and the ability to manage interfaces with related departments.
