Managing Director

The Company is seeking a Managing Director for the Asia region to lead the execution of its research-for-development agenda. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and implementing an integrated regional strategy that advances scientific impact, strengthens partnerships, and enhances organizational sustainability. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in international development, particularly in the areas of agriculture, environmental sciences, and natural resource management. The Managing Director will be accountable for the Alliance's regional presence, ensuring effective stewardship of operations, governance, and compliance, and will work closely with a range of stakeholders, including governments, research organizations, development partners, and the private sector, to advance the organization's mission. Candidates for the Managing Director position should have an advanced degree in a relevant discipline and at least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in international organizations. The role demands a proven track record in building and sustaining strategic partnerships, as well as the ability to represent the organization at senior levels and drive organizational change. Technical competencies include a strong understanding of the research-for-development landscape in Asia, strategic leadership, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be adept at securing funding and have a deep knowledge of partnership development and resource mobilization within international settings. The Managing Director will also be expected to foster a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative culture within the regional teams, in line with the organization's values and leadership framework.
