Executive Director, Foundation Greater Charlotte, NC Area

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its foundation’s strategy, governance, operations, philanthropic investments, and measurable impact. The role includes developing and executing a national skilled-trades workforce strategy, overseeing grantmaking and signature initiatives, and guiding a cross-sector coalition. The Executive Director will serve as the primary liaison to the Board, steward budgets and resources, ensure compliance and risk management, and use research and outcomes to strengthen the philanthropic portfolio. The position also builds senior partnerships, represents the foundation externally, and leads a high-performing team. Candidates should have at least 12 years of experience in philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, social impact, workforce development, community relations, or a related field, including seven years leading people or cross-functional teams. Demonstrated experience advising boards and senior leaders, managing significant budgets or philanthropic investments, and representing an organization with diverse stakeholders is required. Strong written, verbal, and public-speaking skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include experience leading complex strategies and partnerships, building cross-sector networks, guiding coalitions or workforce-development initiatives, using data to measure impact, and developing high-performing teams.
