Vice President of Operations

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Operations to establish, lead, and grow a mechanical contracting operation. The role oversees complex industrial construction and process piping projects, ensuring safe, timely, on-budget, high-quality delivery. Responsibilities include developing customer relationships and new business, managing operational performance and financial results, and building the processes, infrastructure, and workforce needed for growth. The Vice President will recruit and develop project and field teams, oversee workforce planning, and partner with executive leadership on strategy and market expansion. Candidates should bring extensive experience in mechanical contracting, industrial construction, or a related field, with strong expertise in process piping or complex industrial mechanical systems. They should have a record of leading operations, delivering large-scale projects, managing multiple teams, and owning P&L performance, forecasting, cost controls, and profitability. Experience winning work, developing customer relationships, building teams, and managing union workforces is also important. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on operational involvement.
