Chief of Staff, Vehicle Hardware Engineering Greater Detroit, MI Area

The Company is seeking a Chief of Staff and Business Operations Manager to lead business operations and strategic engineering management across global vehicle hardware engineering. The role partners with senior leadership to translate enterprise objectives into engineering plans, align stakeholders, and improve decision-making through structured governance and executive communications. Responsibilities include leading strategic planning, performance dashboards, compliance coordination, and cross-functional initiatives to improve productivity and eliminate operational waste. The position also guides organizational culture and risk management, promoting continuous improvement, transparency, and reliable engineering execution. Candidates must have a master’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related technical management field; a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline is strongly preferred. Requirements include at least 10 years of progressive automotive hardware engineering leadership and two or more years managing operational, process, or program management teams in complex global manufacturing environments. Candidates should bring expertise in engineering development processes, reliability, quality methods, root-cause analysis, design for manufacture and assembly, and systems engineering. Strong strategic planning, productivity modeling, cost analysis, executive communication, and cross-functional leadership skills are essential.
