Assistant Vice President, Legal

The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Legal to advise on legal matters across wholesale banking and, as needed, retail banking. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating financing and other commercial agreements; advising on banking, corporate, data protection, and related regulations; monitoring regulatory changes; and supporting compliance of products and services. The role also involves managing legal and regulatory risks, developing guidance and standard documentation, advising on disputes and debt recovery, and representing the organization in negotiations or legal proceedings. The successful candidate will mentor legal staff and provide legal training to stakeholders. Applicants should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in law; a Vietnamese lawyer’s practicing certificate is preferred. They should have 7–10 years of legal experience, including at least five years in banking or finance, with strong knowledge of relevant banking, commercial, civil, and data protection laws and regulations. Experience in wholesale banking, compliance frameworks, and dispute resolution is required, along with excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills in Vietnamese and English. Strategic thinking, sound judgment, stakeholder management, integrity, and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives are essential.
