Chief Risk Officer (CRO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to lead risk and governance across its regulated insurance operations. The role is responsible for maintaining an effective risk management and control framework, overseeing second-line Risk, Compliance Advisory, Assurance, Data Protection, and Financial Crime functions, and serving as a key liaison with regulators and external auditors. The successful candidate will advise senior leaders and boards on risk exposures, regulatory developments, customer outcomes, and mitigation plans. They will also oversee assurance reviews, breach management, regulatory submissions, compliance training, and the development of policies and procedures, while leading and developing the risk and compliance team. Candidates should bring a strong understanding of risk management in multinational insurance intermediary businesses, insurance practices, and UK and international regulatory frameworks, including the Senior Managers and Certification Regime. The role requires excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills, sound judgment, and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business processes. Applicants should be able to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders while constructively challenging where needed, diagnose emerging issues, and demonstrate integrity, resilience, tenacity, and emotional intelligence.
