Head of Development

The Company is seeking a Head of Development to lead its major-gift fundraising programme while maintaining direct involvement in donor relationships. The role includes managing a portfolio of prospective donors, cultivating relationships, and securing philanthropic support for organizational priorities. The successful candidate will work with academic and senior colleagues to shape compelling funding opportunities and lead an experienced team across a range of disciplines and funding areas. They will also strengthen the external fundraising pipeline and establish a consistent approach to prospect management and prioritizing relationship-building. Candidates should have a proven record of developing significant donor relationships and securing major gifts, along with the judgement and persistence to build lasting support, including from early-stage prospects. Experience may come from higher education, research, health, culture, international development, or another mission-driven setting. The role requires the ability to work effectively with academics, senior leaders, and fundraising professionals, providing colleagues with clear direction and support while valuing their expertise.
