Executive Director, Business & Legal Affairs Greater Los Angeles, CA Area

The Company is seeking an Executive Director, Business & Legal Affairs to lead strategic dealmaking and advise on legal matters across creator partnerships, production, and emerging technology initiatives. Responsibilities include negotiating, drafting, and executing complex agreements; advising stakeholders on deal structures, business strategy, and risk; and partnering across teams to advance partnerships and strategic initiatives. The role also involves developing scalable legal processes, templates, and technology-related policies, while addressing novel issues in a fast-changing media environment. The Executive Director will manage multiple priorities and build trusted relationships with internal and external partners. Candidates must hold a JD and be an active member of the California Bar, or be eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status under Rule 9.46. At least 10 years of progressively responsible legal experience is required, including substantial transactional experience in entertainment, media, technology, or a related field. Applicants should have significant experience independently negotiating and drafting complex agreements and a strong understanding of entertainment rights, production, talent, and digital media business models. Excellent legal judgment, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to advise senior leaders and manage complex matters under pressure. Experience with AI-related issues, creator-economy initiatives, or mentoring legal professionals is an advantage.
