Interim Head of Electrics

The Company is seeking a Head of Electrics to lead its electrics team and oversee lighting, projections, video, and special effects for productions and related projects. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating production cycles, delegating work, scheduling crews, managing budgets and equipment, and maintaining production records and inventory. The role also involves collaborating with creative and technical teams, advising on department operations, and ensuring effective communication and high production standards. The Head of Electrics will promote workplace safety, coordinate required training, and ensure compliance with applicable safety and hazardous-material requirements. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, at least eight years of staff supervision experience preferred, and a record of managing multiple projects in a large-scale repertory performing arts environment. ETCP certification is required, along with membership in or willingness to join the applicable labor organization. Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, and team-management skills are essential. Applicants should bring broad technical knowledge of theatrical lighting, electrical systems, projections, networking, and special effects, as well as experience with relevant production software and equipment.
