Vice President, Database Engineer, Technology Group Greater Singapore Area

The Company is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to play a pivotal role in the design, operation, and modernization of database platforms that support its global investment operations. The successful candidate will be the technical authority for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server, both on-premises and in the cloud. Key responsibilities include database engineering and operations, leading the move to cloud and hybrid database services, and ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the database systems. The role also involves designing and testing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions, applying database security controls, and working with cybersecurity, risk, and audit teams to meet internal policies and regulatory expectations. Applicants must have a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with at least 8 years' of hands-on database engineering or administration experience in enterprise environments. Deep expertise in at least two of the specified database technologies and a proven track record in cloud database solutions are essential. The role requires advanced SQL and performance-tuning skills, experience with scripting and automation, and a solid understanding of database security and data protection principles. The ideal candidate will also have experience in large-scale migrations, exposure to containerized databases, and familiarity with NoSQL or analytical platforms. Strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills are expected, along with a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and a drive to stay updated on new database and cloud technologies.
